Hello,
Just wanted to check up and let you know what the weather is going to be like in the Carson Valley area as well as other areas in this region (Like Lake Tahoe). The most accurate way for me to post about the weather is to follow the NOAA Forecast discussion for the NWS Reno area.
Here is the latest on the inversion effects that we are occurring on the valley floor.
Here is the most up to date look at what the NOAA thinks the forecast will look like. Unfortunately even with the clouds, they do not anticipate any precipitation for the next week. These clouds will just work as convention clouding and help to keep the valley floors warmer at night then on a non cloudy day.
At the end of the day though its all about getting more snow. Here is some great info about how snow accumulates; and also how it can form into an avalanche condition when the snow falls with different water contents and such.
