The Possibility of a White Christmas is looking bleak for the Carson Valley Area

Good Morning,
With this morning update to the NOAA zone forecast discussion for the Reno/Tahoe are, the forecasters explain how the previously thought large cold fronts off Alaska were going to drop into this region. This have proven to not be the case however with the latest models showing the brute of the system coming over the Seattle/Canada border.

With this new update, it does not look good for the ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe Area. This remains particularly true for Mammoth Mountain, which usually receives much more snow then it is getting now. This is the main Sierra Nevada ski resort for the population in the So-Cal region. The reason for this is the shorter commute times to Mammoth (vs Lake Tahoe) and also the good geographic features that present themselves on this eastern Sierra Nevada ski resort.

One of the greatest things about Heavenly Mountain is its great history and vast terrain. One of the more recently closed chairs was the Wells Fargo Chair. It use to access at the gateway for people coming up from the East side of Lake Tahoe, a ski chair to get up the mountain. Here is a great Website I found about this exact chair.
